Linzi J Kemp

Linzi J Kemp is Associate Professor with the American University of Sharjah. She has a PhD from Manchester Metropolitan University; M.B.A., Brunel

University; BEd. (Business), University of Huddersfield; Higher Diploma in Marketing, Chartered Institute of Marketing; Higher National Certificate (Business), British Technical Education Council. Member of the British Academy of Management.

Linzi teaches Women in Leadership, Leadership, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management to graduate and undergraduate students. Her research focuses on women in employment and leadership in the United Arab Emirates, and wider Middle East region.

Previous experience has been in management, training, and lecturing. Prior to the AUS, she spent five years with the State University of New York leading a marketing program, and responsible for the development of part time employees. In the UAE, Linzi taught business; was a Professional Development Coordinator; trainer for the Institute of Leadership & Management (UK), training college faculty and administrators, and managers of an international hotel chain. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she coordinated the information technology curriculum, and was responsible for marketing a new High School there.
At a teacher training college in the People’s Republic of China, Linzi trained new and in-service teachers. Originally from the UK, Linzi worked there as a Team Leader, Hospital Administrator, and Area Manager in private and public organizations, within the fields of education, retail and the National Health Service.
