Dr Linzi J Kemp

Dr Linzi J Kemp is Associate Professor at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), United Arab Emirates. She has a PhD from Manchester Metropolitan University; an MBA from Brunel University; B. Ed (Business) University of Huddersfield; Higher Diploma in Marketing Chartered Institute of Marketing; a Higher National Certificate (Business) British Technical Education Council; and is a Member of the British Academy of Management.

Linzi teaches Women in Leadership, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management to graduate and undergraduate students. Her research focuses on women in employment and leadership in the United Arab Emirates, and the wider Middle East region.

Previous experience has been in management, training and lecturing. Prior to the AUS, she spent five years with the State University of New York leading a marketing program, and was responsible for part-time employees. In the UAE, Linzi taught business, was a Professional Development Coordinator; a trainer for the Institute of Leadership & Management (UK), training college faculty and administrators and managers of an international hotel chain. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia she coordinated the information technology curriculum and was responsible for marketing a new high school there.

At a teacher training college in the People’s Republic of China, Linzi trained new and in-service teachers. Originally from the UK, Linzi worked there as a Team Leader, Hospital Administrator, and Area Manager in public and private organisations in the fields of education, retail and the National Health Service.
